  1. Should I have more than one group?

    At OneGreatFamily, we recommend having only a single group for yourself. If you are invited to join other groups, you can have multiple groups. You should not input the same or closely related individuals into separate groups, as this can cause problems if you are not careful.

  2. How can I delete or remove a group?

    If you have accidentally created an extra group, you should remove your account from this group. This will only remove your account from the group; this will not remove any of the information from the group. To remove your account from the group, login to your account, go to "My Home," and click on the "Manage Groups" link under the Groups heading. Then, click on the "Remove from Group" link next to your account under the desired group.

    If you have created two or more groups and uploaded the same Gedcom into them, please let Customer Support know and they can help you to merge the data.

  3. How can I change a group password?

    In order to change a group password, you need to be the administrator of that group. To change your group password, login to your account, go to "My Home," and click on the "Manage Groups" link under the Groups heading. Then, select "Edit," which is found to the right of the Group name. You are then able to enter the new password for the desired group.

  4. How do I switch between groups?

    If you are a member of more than one Group, you may switch between them by going to the File menu and selecting "Switch Group." You can then select the family group that you wish to login to and enter the password.

    You can also switch between groups by pressing the Anchors button on the toolbar. On the left side of your screen, a new window will open within Genealogy Browser™ showing the different Groups and Anchors that are currently connected to your account. To switch to another group, simply select the appropriate Anchor from the corresponding group.

  5. Conflicts keep appearing between my two groups. What should I do?

    Currently, we do not have a way to merge or delete groups, although we hope to offer this soon. You should be able to access all of the information from your main group and make any needed changes. If there are conflicts from your other groups, you may simply login to them and accept the correct information. Please also see Editing Information for additional help with editing information.
